- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Primary research question: Can regular standardized assessment enable needs-based telemedical intervention to improve modifiable structures, processes, and outcome indicators of participating intensive care units (ICUs)?
Primary outcome: Number of fulfilled modifiable structure, process, and outcome indicators.

Timeline for tool development: within 3 months from the start of the study.
Timing of tool application: at the start of the respective ICU's participation in the study, every 6 months during the study, and at study completion.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Secondary research questions:
1.Can a self-reporting structural assessment tool be developed and continuously optimized to facilitate standardized evaluation of the ICUs?
2.Can the structural assessment tool enable standardized data collection on structures, processes, and outcome indicators of participating ICUs?
3.Can a feedback tool be developed and continuously optimized to conduct standardized user surveys of telemedical visits?
4.Can the regular use of the feedback tool enable standardized assessment of user-friendliness?

Secondary outcome: Identification of (modifiable) factors of the structural assessment and feedback tools based on the pilot version of the instruments.

Timeline for tool development: within 3 months from the start of the study.
Timing of tool application: at the start of the respective ICU's participation in the study, every 6 months during the study, and at study completion.
