1.Patient who is giving written and informed consent.
2.Patient with type 2 Diabetes mellitus with age > 40 and on treatment for diabetic mellitus.
3.Patients undergoing uneventful phacoemulsification surgery under local anaesthesia.
4.Patient with glycemic control of FBS <126mg/dl and PPBS <200mg/dl.
1.Patients not giving consent
2.Any complications during cataract surgery
3.Pre-existing retinopathy
4.Pre - existing maculopathy
5.Allergy to local anaesthetics
6.Chronic ocular inflammatory disease
7H/O previous intraocular surgery
8Patient with type 1 diabetes mellitus, age < 40.
9Patient not on treatment for diabetes mellitus.
