A total of 24 patients who presented with primary endodontic infection were included in this study. The teeth selected should have a primary endodontic infection, with absence of spontaneous painful symptomatology, absence of periodontal pocket with a depth greater than 4 mm, and that could be isolated with a rubber dam.
Those who received antibiotic, anti-inflammatory or analgesic treatment in the last three months or who had any uncontrolled generalized disease were excluded from work.
