Inclusion Criteria

Patients with chronic pain syndromes,

Pain at least 6 months duration

Exclusion Criteria

Patients with a history of alcohol or drug abuse or with psycho-organic cerebral syndromes is excluded.

None of the patients had previously been taking narcotic analgesics.

Pain is not due to somatization disorder or major depression
