Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Individuals with a unilateral transfemoral amputation, who were male (women not included to avoid possible hormonal interference), aged between 40 and 65 years, with a medical diagnosis of systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) controlled with medication, with systolic blood pressure (SBP) ?160 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) ? 100 mmHg at rest at the time of assessment; and already adapted to the water environment (so that a possible anxiety or fear of being in the pool could be avoided) will be included.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Individuals with a body mass index (BMI) corrected for amputees greater than or equal to 30 kg/m², with decompensated diabetes mellitus (DM) according to a previous medical assessment, with a history of a cardiovascular event (acute myocardial infarction, stroke) in the last three months, who were smokers, with renal failure, and had orthopedic problems or any physical or mental impairment that would hinder physical exercise will be excluded.
