Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\)Patient who give written informed consent
  • 2\)ASA I and II
  • 3\)Patients with BMI 18\-25 kg/m2
  • 4\)Age 18\-50 years, either sex
  • 5\)Patients scheduled for laparoscopic surgeries
  • 6\)No major obstructive or restrictive lung disease(defined as \<70% of predicted value for PFT variables of volume and flow)

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\)Patient refusal
  • 2\)Anticipated difficult intubation and pregnant patients and patients in whom intubation attempts exceeds more than two.
  • 3\)Major obstructive or restrictive lung disease(defined as \<70% of predicted value for PFT variables of volume and flow)
  • 4\)Inability to maintain stable ventilator settings for \>30 minutes
  • 5\)Patients with a tracheotomy or who had laryngeal disease or surgery
  • 6\)Patients in whom nasogastric tube is used
  • 7\)Patients who require mechanical ventilation in the postoperative period
