Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\)Patient who give written informed consent
- •2\)ASA I and II
- •3\)Patients with BMI 18\-25 kg/m2
- •4\)Age 18\-50 years, either sex
- •5\)Patients scheduled for laparoscopic surgeries
- •6\)No major obstructive or restrictive lung disease(defined as \<70% of predicted value for PFT variables of volume and flow)
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\)Patient refusal
- •2\)Anticipated difficult intubation and pregnant patients and patients in whom intubation attempts exceeds more than two.
- •3\)Major obstructive or restrictive lung disease(defined as \<70% of predicted value for PFT variables of volume and flow)
- •4\)Inability to maintain stable ventilator settings for \>30 minutes
- •5\)Patients with a tracheotomy or who had laryngeal disease or surgery
- •6\)Patients in whom nasogastric tube is used
- •7\)Patients who require mechanical ventilation in the postoperative period
