Inclusion Criteria

1.Age of 18 years or older, but less than 70 years.

2.ASA Status I to III.

3.Patients undergoing surgeries requiring One Lung Ventilation.

4.Agree to participate in the study and have signed written informed consent.

Exclusion Criteria

1.Symptomatic or Severe Obstructive or Restrictive Lung disease.

Accepted definition for obstructive disease as defined by the American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society Guidelines is FEV1/FVC <0.7. Severity defined as FEV1/FVC <0.5 predicted as severe disease.

2.Requirement of preoperative oxygen support.

3.Preoperative intubation state or under mechanical ventilator support.

4.Baseline arterial pressure of oxygen (Pao2) <70 mm of Hg

5.Symptomatic coronary or peripheral arterial disease

6.Allergic to any drug used during the study.

7.Patients preoperatively on drugs that directly affect Hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV).
