Inclusion Criteria
1.Patients between 18 and 60 years of age of either sex
2.American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I and II
3.Undergoing elective surgery under SAB
Exclusion Criteria
1.Existing psychiatric disorder
2.On medications such as beta blockers, antidepressants, cardiac or psychiatric drugs
3.Unable to read and fill the questionnaire on their own in English or the local language (Tamil).
4.Those refusing to give consent for the study
5.Significant cardiovascular or neurological disease
6.Pregnant patients
7.Previous procedures under SAB
