1. Individuals of either gender, between 35- 60 years who register in the Out Patient Department, School of Ayurveda, Amrita vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, India and willing to take part in this study.
2. Individuals with normal range of body mass index , stable weight for 3 months immediately prior to the study.
3. Individuals with madhyama koshta (nature of bowel evacuation- assessed as per questionnaire), who are vamanarha (eligible for emesis) and virechanarha (eligible for purgation).
4. Healthy volunteers with no current major medical conditions including cancer, heart disease, autoimmune disease or metabolic disorders (e.g. diabetes, obesity, dyslipidaemia), or thyroid dysfunction.
1. Pregnant ladies and breastfeeding mothers.
2.History of eating disorders.
3.History of an acute or chronic inflammatory disorder.
4.Individuals who are addicted and unwilling to abstain from tobacco, alcohol, or recreational drugs.
5.Individuals taking anti- depressants or hormones replacement therapy or have a current diagnosis of Post -traumatic stress disorder.
6.Unwillingness to abstain from anti-oxidants for duration of study. These include vitamin supplements, daily vitamins, resveratrol and minerals. Dry grapes, blue berry, peanut butter, dark chocolate, and soy are rich sources of resveratrol.
7.Unwillingness to eat only study-provided food during pre-conditioning and intervention periods.
8.Unstable weight (change greater than – 10%) in 3 months immediately prior to the study.
9.Food allergies.
10.Dietary restrictions (e.g., vegetarianism).
