Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
To assess the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) guided pain scores at restTimepoint: Pain will be assessed by an investigator not present during the intra-operative period, using a 0- 100mm visual analogue scale, at 0hrs(immediately after shifting to the PACU),at 1, 2, 4, 6, and 24 hrs post operatively.
Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
1. To assess need for intraoperative fentanyl supplementation in adult patients undergoing open inguinal hernia repair with local anaesthetic infiltration with or without supplemental TAP block.

2. To assess the VAS scores on movement at 2, 4, 6, 12 and 24 hours post-operatively in adult patients undergoing open inguinal hernia repair surgery.

3. To assess the Quality of recovery score on the evening of 1st post- operative day after surgery in the patients of 2 groups.

Timepoint: 0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 12 hours and 24 hours post-operatively
