研究概览

简要总结

The surgery related stress response is considered a key factor of intraoperative dysglycemia. Surgery enhances sympathetic stimulation and subsequently increases levels of stress hormones glycogen synthesis, such as catecholamines, cortisol glucagon and growth hormones. Intraoperative dexmedetomidine infusion blunts the stress response and are known to be prominent in general Anesthesia, thereby decreasing the production of stress hormones that are glucose lactate and cortisol.

入选标准

  • ASA STATUS 2 or 3, NYHA CLASS 2, ELECTIVE SURGERY(CARDIAC).

排除标准

  • Patients with diabetes, hypertension and congestive heart failure.
  • Patients/Parents/Legal Guardians unwillingness.

时间窗: 1.Immediately after intubation | 2.After completion of surgery | 3. At the time of extubation | 4.6 hours after extubation | 5.12 hours after extubation | 6. 24 hours after extubation

次要结局

  • To determine serum cortisol levels, post operative sedation scores, post operative pain scores, haemodynamics variables.(1.Immediately after intubation)
