•1.Patients aged between <65 years of age
•2.ASA Physical Status 1 and 2
•3.Undergoing elective abdominal hysterectomy under General anaesthesia for benign conditions affecting uterus i.e. fibroid uterus, adenomyosis, dysfunctional uterine bleeding

•1.BMI >40 kg/ m2
•2.Patient refusal or inability to give consent
•3.Cognitive or psychiatric history that would make difficult to assess the pain score
•4.Pre-existing chronic pain condition
•5.Infection over the site of the block placement
•6.Allergy or contraindication to any study medication
•7.Coagulopathy or thrombocytopenia
•8.Postoperative ICU admission
•9.Presence of significant cardiac, respiratory, hepatic or neurologic disease
