1. Primigravidea
2.parturients who were scheduled for elective caesarean delivery via a Pfannenstiel incision under spinal anesthesia
3.American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status II
4. aged between 18 and 40 years old
5.weighing between 50 and 70 kg
6.normal singleton pregnancy with a gestation of at least 37 weeks.
1.patients who have coagulopathy
2. patients with anatomic abnormalities
3. failure to achieve adequate spinal level leading to perception of pain intraoperatively requiring opioid supplementation
4. localized infection
5. allergy to study medication
6. Patients who are unable to comprehend the protocol or communicate pain scores or need for analgesia
7. Suspected or known addiction to or abuse of illicit drug(s)
8.Uncontrolled anxiety or other psychiatric disorder that, in the opinion of the investigator, may interfere with study assessments or compliance
9. Intraoperative surgical complications
10. any case of stillbirth or newborns requiring ICU care.
