Confirmed diagnosis of idiopathic Parkinson's syndrome
- Implanted THS electrode in the Department of Neurosurgery of the UKGM Marburg (target area: STN)
- German as mother tongue
- Right-handedness
- Duration of implantation longer than three months
- Willingness to participate in EEG examinations
- Ability to understand the subject information and to give written consent
- Written consent for voluntary participation in the study
- Central neurological or severe psychiatric disease
- Presence of atypical or secondary parkinsonian syndrome
- Prior CNS surgery other than THS implantation.
- Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI, PANDA, see Appendix 3))
- Regular use of medications affecting the CNS that have not been discontinued the evening before the examination until after the examination.
- Severe, non-compensable hearing or visual impairment
- Chronic alcohol or drug abuse in the past two years
- Pregnancy or lactation
- Legal incapacity
- Court-ordered or government-ordered institutionalization
- Only in the case of obtaining new MRI scans: Common MRI exclusion criteria
(cardiac pacemaker, implanted ferromagnetic objects, non-MRI compatible THS electrode)
