Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •The following inclusion criteria will be used in this study:
- •1\. Age between 18 and 60 years old.
- •2\. Having a principal diagnosis of depression according to the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview, Version 6\.0\.0 (MINI) (Sheehan et al., 1998\).
- •3\. BDI\-II scores of 14 or above.
- •4\. Sufficient Chinese language proficiency to fill out questionnaires and comprehend therapy materials.
- •5\. Not currently receiving other forms of psychotherapy.
- •6\. Not currently receiving psychiatric medication treatment.
Exclusion Criteria
- •The presence of the following condition(s):
- •1\. Current psychotic symptoms or bipolar affective disorder (BAD).
- •2\. Past psychotic disorder or BAD.
- •3\. Active risk of self\-harm.
- •4\. Current drug and alcohol dependence.
- •5\. Personality disorders.
- •6\. Current legal\-medical issues.
- •7\. Chronic medical and neurological problems that will interfere with participation in therapy.
- •8\. Severe marital or relationship issues that are better treated with couple or marital therapy.
