Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1-Systemically healthy participants.
- •2-Age group: 20–65 years.
- •3-A minimum of twenty teeth present.
- •4-Probing pocket depth (PPD) of 5-6mm in two contralateral quadrants.
- •5-Smoker’s Group: Moderate smokers- 6-10 cigarettes/day & Heavy smokers (More than 11 cigarettes per day)

Exclusion Criteria
- •1-Systemically compromised patients.
- •2-Patients taking any other medications.
- •3-Patients with known allergies or hypersensitivity reactions.
- •4-Pregnant and lactating women.
- •5-Subjects who underwent periodontal treatment within a period of 6 months.
- •6-History of antibiotic intake at least 3 months prior.
- •7-History of use of mouthwashes within 4 weeks before the start of the study.
