Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod

The first important study parameters are the sensitivity and specificity of the

screeners (ZIL and the M.I.N.I. Plus (PTSD section)), with the diagnostic

interview (KIP) as the golden standard.

The second important study parameter is the difference between the NEO FFI

profiles of the group PTSD-SUD and the group SUD-PTSD.

Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod

With the Vragenlijst Belastende Ervaringen (VBE; Nijenhuis e.a.) the history of

the several kinds of trauma, the severity and the timecourse are carefully

traced. A comparison will also be made between the groups which differ in order

of onset of the comorbid disorders, in regard to the various outcomes of the

VBE (the nature of the trauma, period of time, severity and age at onset).

In some addicition care institutions, the Depressie-Angst-Stress Schaal (DASS;

de Beurs e.a.) is a regular intake-instrument to determine psychiatric

comorbidity. The psychometric qualities of the DASS in detecting PTSD in

relation to the other instruments (KIP, ZIL and M.I.N.I.-plus) will be assessed.

Alexithymia will be scored with the TAS-20 and the BVAQ.
