Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\. ASA physical status I or II
- •2\. Patients undergoing midline laparotomy under general anaesthesia
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\.Known allergy to local anaesthetic and/or opioid drugs
- •2\.History of opioid drug , substance/alcohol abuse
- •3\.Any decompensated illness (renal, hepatic , respiratory or cardiac)
- •4\.Any underlying coagulation disorder
- •5\.Any neurological or psychiatric illness.
- •6\.Unanticipated prolonged postoperative mechanical ventilation
- •7\.Incision length greater than 20\-cm
- •8\.Presence of midline incision due to previous surgery
