To evaluate the effects of two methods at the time of delivery i.e milking of the umbilical cord towards baby for 5 times and delaying the cord clamping for 1-3 minutes on serum ferritin at 3 months of life.

1) NEWBORNS DELIVERED AFTER INTACT UMBILICAL CORD MILKING OR DELIVERED CORD CLAMPING

2)GESTATIONAL AGE OF 34 0/7 WEEKS TO 41 6/7 WEEKS

3)DOES NOT REQUIRE ACTIVE RESUSCITATION AT BIRTH

4) MATERNAL HB >9.9MG/DL

5) PARENTAL WRITTEN INFORMED CONSENT GIVE

Exclusion Criteria

1) MULTIPLE GESTATION

2) CORD ABNORMALITIES ( CORD PROLAPSE, TRUE KNOTS)

3) RH SENSITIZED MOTHERS

4) ANTENATAL SCAN SHOWING ANY MAJOR CONGENITAL ANOMALIES OF FETUS

5) ABNORMAL PLACENTATION

6) MOTHERS WITH SMOKING HABITS

7) BLEEDING DISORDERS IN MOTHERS

1)Impact of intact umbilical cord milking versus delayed cord clamping on Hemoglobin,Hematocrit at 3-5days of life and at 3rd month of life. <br/ ><br>2)APGAR score at one and five minutes <br/ ><br>3)Total serum bilirubin, direct serum bilirubin at 3-5 days of life and development of jaundice requiring phototherapy or exchange transfusion in both groups, development of polycythemia and hemodynamic parameters like capillary refilling time, Respiratory rate, Heart rate and Oxygen saturation at 3-5 days of life.Timepoint: One year
