Brief Summary

Before the intervention (T0), results show no significant differences in mean HS-omega 3 index between groups (p=0.816). After 13 weeks (T1) and 26 weeks (T2) of fish oil supplementation, significant absolut mean differences of 4.56% and 3.16% could be found (p<0,001) between groups.

HS omega 3 index = share of EPA and DHA on total fatty acids in the membranes of red blood cells in capillary blood samples before and after 13 weeks of intervention with a daily intake of 1500 mg omega 3 fatty acids and additional 13 weeks with 750 mg omega 3 fatty acids.
