Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Elective surgery, general anesthesia (without intubation / without
- •relaxation) is required
- •\-Information about the study and written consent to the study
- •\-No contraindications for the application of an EIT belt / for performing
Exclusion Criteria
- •\-Aspiration risk during induction of anesthesia (rapid sequence induction)
- •\-Intubation anesthesia/relaxation required during general anesthesia
- •\-Difficult airway requiring awake fiberoptic intubation
- •\-Emergency intubation/surgery
- •\-Pregnancy
- •\-EIT monitoring not possible due to:
- •\-Immobilization (e.g. unstable spinal trauma / rib /
- •Sternum, pelvic fractures, etc.) that prohibit usage of EIT belt
- •or makes electrical impedance measurement impossible
- •\- Patients with inserted transvenous or subcutaneous
