1. Cases posted for elective tonsillectomy or adenotonsillectomy surgeries in amala institute of medical
sciences, Thrissur with in this particular duration of study.
2. ASA I or II.
3. Age between 2 to 12 years.
1. Patients not willing to participate in this study
2. Patients allergic to dexmedetomidine
3. Patients with anticipated difficult airway
4. Patients with developmental delay, mental retardation, attention deficit or hyperactive disorder
5. Patients with liver, renal or cardiac diseases
6. ASA III, IV, V and VI
