It is a cross sectional study to estimate the prevalence of depression among geriatric population aged above 60 years attending outpatient department at Aringnar anna government hospital of Indian medicine, chennai. The questionnaire which consistsmof 30 questions to estimate the degree of depression. That the results obtained will identify the prevalence of depression among the geriatric patients and help practioners to gain knowledge about depression which will help in evaluating and treat them accordingly in order to relieve their depression level.

- •Age group less than 60 years of both gender.
