Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •For FCPD group:All the patients with FCPD attending the clinic during the time period were included
  • •For Type 2 Diabetes group:
  • •1\. Patients diagnosed with T2DM at least 1 year
  • •before the time of periodontal status
  • •2\. Patients above the age of 12 years.
  • •3\. Minimum of 20 teeth present

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Patients with other systemic diseases which may affect the periodontal status (Osteoporosis , Rheumatoid Arthritis etc),
  • •2\. pregnant and lactating mothers
  • •3\. Patients taking medications which may affect the periodontal status (Nifedipine,
  • •Cyclosporine, Phenytoin etc)
  • •4\. Patients with acute condition that contraindicate a periodontal examination.
  • •5\. Patients who received periodontal therapy past 1 year.
  • •6\. Patients not willing to sign informed consent
