For FCPD group:All the patients with FCPD attending the clinic during the time period were included
For Type 2 Diabetes group:
1. Patients diagnosed with T2DM at least 1 year
before the time of periodontal status
assessment
2. Patients above the age of 12 years.
3. Minimum of 20 teeth present
Patients with other systemic diseases which may affect the periodontal status (Osteoporosis , Rheumatoid Arthritis etc),
2. pregnant and lactating mothers
3. Patients taking medications which may affect the periodontal status (Nifedipine,
Cyclosporine, Phenytoin etc)
4. Patients with acute condition that contraindicate a periodontal examination.
5. Patients who received periodontal therapy past 1 year.
6. Patients not willing to sign informed consent
