Adults (>18 years old) with idiopathic Parkinson's disease
Levodopa therapy required; any formulation is acceptable.
Hoehn & Yahr stage 2-4 in the off state
Motor complications; wearing off
Normal cognition (TMSE >24)
On stable doses of anti-parkinsonian medications or stable DBS adjustment.
Atypical parkinsonism or secondary parkinsonism
Severe dysphagia
History of gastric cancer, peptic ulcer, duodenal ulcer, or gastric surgery
History of previous brain surgery for PD
Prior treatment for H.pylori
Recent use of proton-pump inhibitor, antibiotics
Allergy to penicillin, amoxicillin, clarithromycin, rabeprazole, metronidazole
Inability to tolerate or participate in testing in the morning in an off state
