Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Patients under ASA I and II
  • •Undergoing elective surgery under general anaesthesia

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Refusal to participate
  • •Major peripheral vascular disease, unstable angina or ejection fraction \<40%, implanted pacemaker/cardioverter, history of heart failure, autonomic nervous system disorders
  • •Respiratory distress, increased intraabdominal pressure, difficult airway
  • •Mental incompetence
  • •Patients currently taking angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, beta blockers and calcium channel blockers
