- Brief Summary
The study is a cross-sectional study using convenience sampling method. It is to investigate the association between the child’s opinion of the style of parental behaviours during their childhood, self- compassion, and compassion for others.
The estimated sample size is 350 and the site for sample collection of data is will be the campus of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal and School of Allied Health Sciences (SOAHS), Manipal for a study period of 5 months. The results hence obtained will be statistically analyzed using Correlation. Among the Indian population, no study till date explored the effect of the perceived parental styles ad its effect on self-compassion and compassion for others. Hence, this study aims to bridge this existing research gap.

- Undergraduate students with both parents.
- A minimum parental expose to both parents for 15 years.
- Undergraduate students from a single-parent household.
- Undergraduate students with less than 15 years of exposure to both parents.
- Undergraduate students with a psychiatric disorder.
