Diagnostic diagnosed patients according to WHO criteria (HbA1c value of> 8%)
Currently Metformin oral monotherapy and able to pay cost for treatment 6 months
Patients with private mobile phones Willingness to receive SMS for 6 months at least one SMS per week. The patient was registered with the hospital and lives in Terengganu City.
Provide informed written consent and agree for follow-up visit within 6 months. (SMS reminders will be sent for the follow-up visit).
Patients with other types of diabetes such as diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, transport diabetes. Patients whose clinical condition may interfere with the examination, such as a mental illness, other serious illness, or joint disease requiring hospitalization.
Patients who are unable to give informed consent or arrange a follow-up visit.
Patients who do not have a cell phone or cannot read the SMS.
