1. Patients aged 40 - 65 years fulfilling the clinical criteria of knee osteoarthritis defined by American college rheumatology
2. Grade 2 or 3 Kellgren and Lawrence
3. Increased knee pain and stiffness for at last 3 months
4. Pain intensity on Visual Analog Scale more than 4(out of 10)
1. Diabetes mellitus
2. Pregnancy
3. Rheumatologic or inflammatory diseases involving the knee joint
4. Previous arthroplasty
5. Intra-articular or peri-articular injection in the past three months
6. Body mass index (BMI) more than 35
