Adults (age =19 years old) who underwent the standardized general health examination at least once during the baseline (January 2009 to December 2010) and follow-up (January 2011 to December 2017) periods, respectively.
Among the obtained data of over eight million individuals who were randomly selected, we excluded individuals with incomplete information on health checkup results including physical activity, biochemistry and urine dipstick tests, and those with outliers of persons with outliers of body mass index, waist circumference, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, aspartate- and alanine-aminotransferase, ?-glutamyl transpeptidase, estimated glomerular filtration rate values at the baseline period. We further excluded individuals who had any history of nephro-urological or hepatological diseases based on ICD-10 codes from 2002 to 2010, those with moderate and greater risks of CKD or simple hepatosteatosis at the baseline period, and those with missing data on eGFR, predicted albumin-to-creatinine ratio (pACR), and fatty liver index (FLI) during the follow-up period.
