Overview
Brief Summary
Research shows that excessive screen time negatively impacts children’s cognition, mood, social skills, language, etc. Toddlers and babies are increasingly using screen media. The people surrounding the child, like their family and peer circle, impact their behavior. Evidence has been found on parental use of television being associated with a high level of use of television in children, but there is a lack of knowledge on what indicates the use of other technology in children. Therefore, it is crucial for understanding if they impact the overall screen time of a child. Since screen time is a problem that is rapidly getting worse, it is crucial to research the factors that can have such a direct and consequential impact on a child. The study aims to understand and measure the relationship between parents’ screen time and children’s screen time.
