1.Smokers group:Smokers who had smoked average 5- 10 cigarettes, beedis ,kreteks per day for more than 3 years.
2.Smokeless tobacco users group:Those using ghutka , panmasala , kharra over the course of atleast 1-2 years.
3.Non smokers group:No history of smoking.
4.Probing pocket depth of > 5mm or clinical attachment loss of > 3mm.
5.Previously periodontally untreated patients.
6.Patients undergoing periodontal flap surgery,crown lengthening or extraction.
1.Medically compromised patients
2.Patient who underwent periodontal therapy within the last six months.
3.Patient on medications which will lead to alteration in gingival vasculature.
4.Physically and mentally challenged subjects.
5.Pregnant ladies
6.Patients on immunosuppressive therapy
