For objective 1
This is a secondary analysis on data collected on Indian T2D patients (WELLGEN study) and Swedish Data will come from the Swedish cohort ANDIS of T2D patients from Sweden.
WELLGEN contains T2D patients diagnosed below 45 years of age (n 1500) and diagnosed more than 45 years of age (n 1500), ANDIS has data on more than 8000 T2D patients.
Extensive phenotypic and genotypic data has been collected on all patients with appropriate EC permission and individual consent.
For objective 2
The data will come from multiple cohort studies from the repository of the Diabetes Unit, KEM Hospital (PMNS, PCS, CRISIS, WELLGEN etc.). We will include data from healthy volunteers as well as T2DM patients on whom extensive phenotypic data (Anthropometry, Body composition and biochemistry) is available.
For objective 3
This is an analysis based on omics data available in public domain databases. We will search with standard search engines GEO datasets, NCBI, GTEX, EMBL. WE will preferably select papers providing data on more than 20 samples. Our preference will be for transcriptomics (RNA-Seq, microarray data).
a. Disease type : T2D
b. Tissue type : pancreas, serum , placenta; single cell or whole organ.
For objective 1
Patients suspected of T1D , secondary diabetes and monogenic diabetes are excluded.
Extensive phenotypic and genotypic data has been collected on all patients with appropriate EC permission and individual consent.
For objective 2
NIL
For objective 3
a. Type 1 diabetes, cancer and other pathologies.
b. datasets on other omics i.e. methylation , metabolomics.

Name Time Method Comparative description of T2D characteristics in Indians and Swedes (genetic, parent of origin effects, and phenotypes including physical characteristics, glucose insulin relationships and associated factors (lipids, blood pressure, and organ damage)Timepoint: 0 to 18 months
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1. Genotype â?? phenotype association differences in Indians and Swedes for classic genes like FTO , TCF7alpha , KCNQ1 etc .Timepoint: 0 to 18 months;2. Tissue-specific (pancreatic) compendium of â??omics catalogues and mathematical modeling to predict life course.Timepoint: 0 to 24 months
