Inclusion Criteria
Non metastatic cancer requiring primary surgery:
Colectomy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, hysterectomy, melanoma excision, mastectomy, cystectomy
Exclusion Criteria
Metastases
ASA 4 and above
Diabetes
Concurrent pre-operative opioid analgesic use
Anti arrythmic drugs, arrythmogenic conditions
Hepatic or renal impairment
Pregnancy

Name Time Method Tumour recurrence. Clinical assessments and relevant biochemical markers specific to each cancer type.[1 year, 3 years]

Name Time Method Mortality. Death register investigation, phone calls to prompt clinical assessment by surgeons, note retrieval to determine surgical outcome.
