Inclusion Criteria

1.Patients of 18-60 years, both sexes.

2.Patients willing to give informed consent.

3.Ankle fracture treated surgically with an implant.

Exclusion Criteria

1.patient with Pilon fractures including articular impaction requiring elevation of fragments were excluded.

2.If the patients are treated differently after the initial study phase.

3.Not willing to participate in the study.

4.Bilateral ankle fractures or other major injuries that would affect recovery time

5.Inability to co-operate with post-op protocol (advanced dementia, polytrauma patients).

6.Non-ambulatory preinjury.

7.Neuropathic joint: diabetic neuropathy, alcoholic neuropathy, syphilis, leprosy, spinal cord injury.

8.If operating surgeon feels the fixation is not stable.
