Pediatric patients belonging to ASA 1 & 2 of age group between 7 to 17 years of either gender undergoing elective surgical procedures requiring anesthesia with no peripheral IV access will be enrolled.
Patients not fulfilling the inclusion criteria will be excluded,Undergoing emergency surgeries,Children with decreased level of consciousness or intellectual disabilities,those with broken skin or infection over cannulation site,children who have received analgesia or sedation in last 12 hours,adverse drug reactions to lidocaine or prilocaine,Preexisting sensory/motor deficits in the limb to be cannulated,Difficult iv cannulation,Burns
