This study aims to compare the effectiveness of plyometric exercises and flatfoot corrective exercises on balance and foot posture in obese children with flexible flatfoot. Childhood obesity is associated with altered biomechanics, impaired balance, and a higher prevalence of flexible flatfoot, which can negatively affect functional performance and quality of life.

This is a non-randomized, parallel, comparative interventional study conducted among obese children aged 7–11 years with flexible flatfoot, recruited from selected schools in Bengaluru. A total sample size of 120 participants will be included and allocated into two parallel groups using a non-randomized method, with 60 participants in each group. Group A will receive a structured plyometric exercise program, and Group B will receive flatfoot corrective exercises.

Outcome measures will include balance assessment using the BTrack balance system and foot posture assessment using the Foot Posture Index-6. Assessments will be conducted at baseline and post-intervention. The study aims to determine and compare the effectiveness of both exercise protocols in improving balance and foot posture in obese children with flexible flatfoot.

  • 1.Parent/legal guardian of children who allow child to voluntarily participate in the study and sign the written informed consent form 2.Age criteria between 7 to 11 years 3.Children with BMI of 25.00 kg/m² or higher 4.Flexible flatfoot 5.Balance impairments.

排除标准

  • 1.Previous lower limb injury 2.Deformities of lower limbs 3.History of Neurological and other musculoskeletal conditions 4.Visual and auditory impairments 5.History of cardiovascular and respiratory conditions 6.Engagement in any obesity treatment program within the past three months.
