•Inclusion criteria
•? Stroke patients who are admitted to the hospital within 7 days of onset
•? Adult patients over 19 years old
•? Stroke should be diagnosed by neurologist or neurosurgeon (confirmed by computed tomography or magnetic resonance image)
•? First-ever ischemic stroke patient
•? Initial Korean version of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (K-NIHSS) score is 1 to 5 points
•? Patients who agree to participate in the educational intervention program

•Exclusion criteria
•? Patient who was admitted to the hospital after 8 days of onset
•? Transient ischemic attack
•? History of previous stroke with definite clinical symptoms
•? Under 19 years old or over 75 years old
•? Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) is more than 2 before stroke attack
•? The Korean Mini Mental State Examination(K-MMSE) score is less than 20 points
•? Progressive or unstable stroke
•? Pre-existing and active major neurological disease
•? Pre-existing and active (e.g., on chronic medication) major psychiatric disease, such as major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disease or dementia
•? Advanced liver, kidney, cardiac, or pulmonary disease
•? A terminal medical diagnosis consistent with survival <1 year
