Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Age between 18 \- 90 years old
  • 2\.BMI \< 35 kg/m2
  • 3\.American Society of Anesthesiologists class I \- IV
  • 4\.Elective cardiac surgery
  • 5\.Undergoing CVC through the right IJV

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Contraindicated to TEE insertion eg. central airway lesion, esophageal stenosis or esophageal varices
  • 2\.Documented extra\-cardiac vascular or rotational cardiac abnormalities
  • 3\.Previously superior carvopulmonary shunt surgery or Fontan operation
  • 4\.Abnormalities of neck and chest wall eg. Klippel\-Feil syndrome or burn scar contracture
  • 5\.Preoperative documented thrombosis in right IJV
