Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Patients presenting with spontaneous pain associated with irreversible pulpitis in mandibular molars with no clinical or radiographic signs or symptoms of acute or chronic apical periodontitis.
  • Presented with American Society of Anesthesiologists I or II medical history.
  • Patient provides informed consent.
  • Patients who can read and understand the pain scoring criteria.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Presence of any systemic disorder or allergy or sensitivity or contraindications to lidocaine.
  • Presence of periapical radiolucency, swelling, teeth not suitable for restoration, or having serious periodontal disease that rendered the teeth unsuitable for endodontic treatment.
  • Presence of mental disorders or Pregnant or lactating patients.
  • Presence of Raynaud disease, cold hypersensitivity, Hemoglobinuria, arrhythmia, angina pectoris, and hypertension.
  • Presence of trismus.
  • History of taking analgesics in the previous 12 hours prior to presenting for treatment
