Systemically healthy patients, aged < 45 years and with at least 20 natural teeth in the oral cavity.
Patients affected and diagnosed with moderate to severe aggressive periodontitis as assessed with GI >1; probing depth (PD) > 5mm and clinical attachment loss (CAL) > 3mm with alveolar bone loss affecting > 30% of the teeth as detected on radiograph at the time of initial diagnosis.
Patients with medical disorders like cardiovascular, renal disease, etc.
Patients with recent history of acute or chronic infection.
Individuals with history of tobacco chewing and smoking.
Pregnant and lactating females.
Patients with history of periodontal therapy or antibiotic &/or anti-inflammatory medication within previous 6 months.
