Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Patients with the Metabolic syndrome as defined by the NCEP ATP 3 criteria with atleast 3 of the following
  • •1\.Fasting plasma glucose \> 5\.6mmol/l
  • •2\.Serum Triglycerides \> 1\.7mmol/l
  • •3\.Serum HDL Cholesterol \< 1\.0mmol/l
  • •4\.Blood pressure \>130/85
  • •5\.Abdominal obesity
  • •Waist girth \>102cms in males
  • •\> 88 cms in females
  • •Are the trial subjects under 18? no
  • •Number of subjects for this age range:

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\.Patients with Diabetes
  • •2\.Patients on NSAIDs,Aspirin
  • •3\.pregnancy and Lactation
  • •4\.Acute Renal and liver disease
  • •5\.Acute illness.
