Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Patients with the Metabolic syndrome as defined by the NCEP ATP 3 criteria with atleast 3 of the following
  • 1\.Fasting plasma glucose \> 5\.6mmol/l
  • 2\.Serum Triglycerides \> 1\.7mmol/l
  • 3\.Serum HDL Cholesterol \< 1\.0mmol/l
  • 4\.Blood pressure \>130/85
  • 5\.Abdominal obesity
  • Waist girth \>102cms in males
  • \> 88 cms in females
  • Are the trial subjects under 18? no
  • Number of subjects for this age range:

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Patients with Diabetes
  • 2\.Patients on NSAIDs,Aspirin
  • 3\.pregnancy and Lactation
  • 4\.Acute Renal and liver disease
  • 5\.Acute illness.
