All very low birth weight (VLBW) neonates (birth weight- <1500 grams) and gestational age of 26-34 weeks admitted into NICU of Kasturba Hospital, Manipal
1. Neonates with congenital or maternal infections
2. Congenital Malformations
3. Syndromes/ Genetic defects
4. Surgical conditions â?? like intestinal obstruction/perforation needing stoma and mucus fistula
5. Critically ill conditions (pH <6.8, or hypoxia with persistent bradycardia)
6. Inability to reach 100 ml/kg/day by 28 days of life
