Inclusion Criteria

expert survey: the team from Hamburg will conduct a web-based survey with national experts from different fields in patient-centered medical care (clinicans, patient representives, researcher, quality manager). Participants receive an e-mail that informs about the nature and aims of the study and includes a link to the online survey.

patient interviews: the team from Freiburg will question patients from center of geriatrics and gerontology Freiburg, at least two diagnosed diseases, sufficient language capability. These participants have to be at least 65 years old.

Exclusion Criteria

expert survey: Employee of Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf

patient interviews: severe cognitive restrictions, psychosis or suicidal thoughts

This study aims to achieve a sound evidence base on the current state of the availability and quality of assessment instruments on patient-centeredness for the multimorbid elderly. The objectives of <br>our study are (1.) to identify assessment instruments of patient-centeredness in the multimorbid elderly by conducting a systematic review of assessment instruments and (2.) to provide a critical quality appraisal of their assessment properties. The results of the review will serve as a base for the development of recommendations related to practice as well as related to further research.
