Inclusion criteria for GPs is the care of patients with a dementia diagnosis. With regard to the participants (patients and relatives), a newly diagnosed dementia in hospital and subsequent discharge into the home or an inpatient care facility is a prerequisite for inclusion. The first consultation about the newly diagnosed dementia in the GP setting should have taken place within the last six months. The participating people with dementia must be able to give consent and to conduct the interview and group discussion independently. Since the interviews and group discussion will be conducted in German, only participants who speak German will be included.
Exclusion criteria is a refusal or discontinuation of participation as well as the missing dementia diagnosis for patients and the missing patients with a dementia diagnosis at the GP setting.
