1.Patients posted for elective infra umblical abdominal surgeries.
2.American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) grade I and II patients.
Patients with
1. Pregnancy.
2. Altered coagulation profile /bleeding diathesis.
3. Pre existing neurological or cardiac diseases.
4.Surgeries in prone position and laproscopic surgeries.
5. Alcoholism, drug abuse, psychological or other emotional problems that are likely to invalidate the informed consent, or limit the ability of the subject to comply with the protocol requirements were excluded.

Name Time Method To evaluate the efficacy of subcutaneous dexmedetomidine in prolonging the post operative analgesia following SAB. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: from time of Subarachnoid block (SAB) injection to until the onset of post operative pain. <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>After Subarachnoid block (SAB) Patient will be assessed every 5 mins till end of surgery and then every 15 minutes postoperatively for 1 hour, and then every 4th hourly for 24 hrs. <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>
- Secondary Outcome Measures
