Inclusion Criteria
1) Age 3-23 months,
2) first acute severe wheezing episode,
3) rhinovirus positive PCR-test in nasopharyngeal aspirate, and
4) written informed consent.

Exclusion Criteria
1) Chronic illness other than atopy,
2) previous systemic or inhaled corticosteroid treatment,
3) participation to another trial,
4) varicella contact if previously intact, or
5) need for intensive care unit treatment.
