Inclusion Criteria
1.Patients aged between 18 â?? 80 years undergoing elective cases of hip fracture surgeries like intertrochanteric, subtrochanteric , total hip replacement and hip arthroplasties.
2.Patients willing to give written informed consent[annexure 1(a)]
3.Patients belonging to ASA I and II[annexure 3(a)]
Exclusion Criteria
1.Patients with coagulopathy
2.Patients with infection at the injection site
3.Patients with allergy to local anesthetics
4.Patients with severe cardiopulmonary disease (>=ASA IV)
5.Patients who are diabetic or other neuropathies
6.Patients receiving opioids for chronic analgesic therapy
7.Patients with contraindication to spinal anesthesia
8.Patients who are unable to comprehend visual analog scale (VAS)
