Study Overview

Brief Summary

Theaim of this study is to find out the efficacy of Scapularproprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation combined withupper limb proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation techniques and conventionaltherapy on scapular alignment, upper limb function, and gait in sub-acute stroke.

50.00 Year(s) to 70.00 Year(s) (—)

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Patient with hemiplegic subacute stroke between 3-6 months, both male and female aged from 50-70 years
  • •Patients with more than 24 in Mini-mental state examination
  • •Patients with spasticity between grades (+1 and 1) on the Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS).
  • •Patients with Brunnstrom Voluntary control grading more than or equal to 4
  • •Patients who were independent in ambulation with or without a walking aid.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •patients who have uncontrolled hypertension, symptomatic heart failure, or unstable angina.
  • •patients who have a recurrent stroke.
  • •patients who have any traumatic upper and lower limb musculoskeletal conditions.
  • •patients who had organ damage such as lung, heart, kidney, or liver failure.

Outcomes

Primary Outcomes

1.Palpation Meter (PALM)

Time Frame: Outcomes will be assessed at baseline and after | 6 weeks.

2.Fugl-Meyer Assessment of Upper Extremity (FMA-UE)

Time Frame: Outcomes will be assessed at baseline and after | 6 weeks.

3.10-Meter Walk Test (10MWT)

Time Frame: Outcomes will be assessed at baseline and after | 6 weeks.

Secondary Outcomes

  • 1. Handheld Dynamometer(2. Dynamic gait index (DGI))
